Presentation	Founded in 1994, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center administers various dispute resolution services for the settlement of commercial disputes between private parties involving intellectual property. The Center is international, independent and neutral, and is assisted in its operation by advisory bodies composed of external experts in international dispute resolution and intellectual property.
Functions	The Centre administers the following procedures: mediation (also known as conciliation); arbitration; expedited arbitration; mediation followed, in the absence of a settlement, by arbitration. The Centre regularly organizes conferences, seminars and training programmes on the subject of arbitration and mediation of intellectual property disputes. These events usually take place at the headquarters of WIPO in Geneva.
