| Presentation | The Malta Arbitration Centre was set up in 1998 to promote and encourage the conduct of domestic arbitration and international commercial arbitration. It is administered by a Board of Governors appointed by the President of Malta but is independent of Government. |
| Functions | The functions of the Centre are: to promote Malta as a centre for international commercial arbitration; to provide for the conduct of international arbitration in Malta; to encourage domestic arbitration as a means of settling disputes; to provide the necessary facilities for the conduct of arbitration; to advise the Government on any of the matters mentioned above. |
